2018-2022
Thanks to the installed dozens of kilometers of radiating cables and more than a thousand antennas, passengers of the Prague metro can use the high-speed 5G mobile signal anywhere on the platforms, in transfer corridors, in vestibules, in escalators or track tunnels, regardless of their length or the size of the station.
The coverage of the metro tunnels consisted in the installation of approximately 5 cm wide radiating cable along the entire length of the Prague metro. All work on the construction of the network took place only during the regular night shutdowns of the metro, which last approximately three hours. The installation of the cable was carried out with the help of special plastic handles, which, unlike metal ones, do not pose a risk of signal interference.
Colsys was responsible for laying approximately 40 km of radiation cable. The work was carried out from the railway yard and from the technical train. During this installation, Colsys distinguished itself not only by its high technical know-how, but also by its flexibility and the ability to coordinate the work with regard to the operational restrictions of the metro's night shutdowns. This successful installation strengthened the prestige of Colsys in the field of electrical installations and telecommunications.
