The newly installed public warning and notification system of the city of Olomouc has replaced outdated 100V public address systems that did not allo targeted zone announcements, and their acoustic quality was so low that the announcements were often incomprehensible. The new wireless system brings the residents of Olomouc a significantly more flexible means of communication, both in crisis situations and for quickly disseminating practical information among citizens. It is much more intelligible than the announcements from the old system and can be used in various configurations, such as broadcasting for the entire city, a specific neighborhood, or even just a particular street.

The entire system is integrated into a unified warning and information system for residents and consists of 1832 acoustic units covering an area of 100 km². The solution also includes 2 river gauge stations designed to monitor the water levels of Mlýnský potok and Bystřice in the event of impending floods, and 1 precipitation gauge station located in the Neředín district.
